Meeting called to order at 7:15 p.m. with opening prayer and meditation.

Present were:  John, Jim, Deanna, Fr. Tom, Lynn and Mary Lou
Absent:  Bill

Minutes from the previous meeting were amended for dates of March 23 not 22
and April 23 not 25. After this addition the minutes were accepted.

Committee Reports

Youth Committee:
Father Tom has a couple people interested and will let us know when he has four people.  Until then it is a work in progress.

Social Events Committee:
There will be a meeting on May 10th.  John Alberg may be joining it due to work
conflicts for his involvement in the Social Justice Committee.

We need to have a list a calendar of events planned so they can be added to the
website.  Lynn will request this from the committee.

Liturgy Committee:
Evaluation of the Easter Liturgies.  All services were held in the Parish Center.
We now have 500 chairs.

Faith Formation:
The Faith Formation Committee announced that Lisa will be leaving her staff position
May 13.  There is a need for the replacement to be hired and trained by August 1.  The
Administration Council will take care of this matter.

Social Justice Committee
Food Shelf response was good for the Easter baskets.  St. Gen's had the largest
group (12) to help distribute the Easter care baskets for the needy families.

Dave Kirchner is working on putting a list of items that are needed over and above
the canned goods and dry foods.  Also, it was suggested that we have envelopes for
those who would like to give a cash donation on Food Shelf Sunday.  These would
be on hand all the time for those interested in this sort of donation.

There is a Befriender Program that the Social Justice group is interested in pursuing
at St. Gen's. Helping the elderly that need "stuff".  What sort of liability is required.
Training is needed and available through the Archdiocese.  We think it should be
kept local and we need to respect privacy of the people that are helped.

Perhaps father Tom knows of people that need help and a list could be developed
of those that need help.  Also a list of people that can help out with "helping" so
when things come up we have a source to go to for both helpers and those to be
helped.  John Albert will talk with Laura to contact the Befrienders organization for
details on training etc.

Also the Social Justice Committee would like to have a monthly recognition program where
we can express appreciate of our Police, Fire Fighters, Teachers, etc.
This was received with positive comments.

The Communications Committee continues to be a work in progress.  Minutes from the various ministries are now being posted on the website for those interested in these activities.

Other Business
The Council expressed a concern of the whereabouts of Bill Juergens.  We have not
seen him for several meetings.  We will call and email him to see if he responds.

Our parish pictorial directory plans are moving forward.  Olan Mills, the Photography Company has been chosen. Schedule for photographs is May 14, 15, 16, 31, and June 1, 2.  If we need an additional day we can add that later.  Registration continues for the 4 weeks of April and we hope to have 100% participation.

With no further business do discuss, the meeting closed with a prayer.

Our next meeting will be May 28 at 7 p.m. in the Rectory.

Opening prayer will be John
Meditation will be Lynn
Closing prayer will be Mary Lou

Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary Lou Wilharber, secretary
