Walk the Talk from Fat Tuesday to Ash Wednesday
“Lord, when did I see you homeless?”
Come celebrate and learn on Tuesday, February 25th at 6:00 pm at the Parish Community Center. We will be celebrating Fat Tuesday with some refreshments (Shrove Tuesday pancakes and sausage!) as we ready ourselves spiritually for the 40 days of Lent. After the meal, we will learn more about Saint Andrew’s Family Shelter.
The shelter, located in the old rectory in Hugo, is supported by our parish and other area churches. The Church of St. Andrew’s in Mahtomedi manages the shelter and assists the residents in job and educational opportunities with the goal of permanent housing and the ability to be self-supporting. The shelter is a welcoming, secure, and safe place for struggling families and is in constant need of volunteers and financial donations. Saint Genevieve’s support of this facility is just one example of how we can "Walk the Talk."
In coordination with our CCW month-long collection, please bring donations of personal care items, laundry products, toiletries, etc. that will go to local food shelves.
Thanks to the Pastoral Council, the Men's Club, Social Justice and the CCW for all playing a part in this event!
Please RSVP below so we plan how many pancakes to flip!
