From Father Greg

Dear Friends,
“…for whoever exalts himself shall be humbled and the one who humbles himself shall be exalted,” (Luke 18:9-14)
There are many things that motivate people to come to church. In this gospel we have today, we have a contrast between one person who came to prove his own piety: the Pharisee spoke his prayer to himself. One person approached God with humility: the tax collector would not even raise his eyes to heaven.
The one with humility went home justified.
Thank you for coming to Mass. Thank you for coming for, I hope, not to prove your piety. Thank you for coming to learn once again about the humility of God. What might God be wanting to teach you as we celebrate this Mass today?
Peace,
Fr. Greg

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Helpful Resources
As parishioners of St. Genevieve, we commit ourselves to refresh our participation of Liturgy through attentive listening to God's Word, in raising our voices in prayer and song, and in reverent reception of the Body and Blood of Christ. We pledge to work for justice for those inside and outside of our boundaries and to be instruments of healing in our families and in our community.
