From Father Greg

Dear Friends,

As I’ve said before there are many questions in the Bible. I have one for you - Which of the apostles makes the strongest statement of belief in Jesus in the new testament?

Doubting Thomas! “My Lord and my God.” He is one of my favorite people. Thomas shows us that having doubts is normal. Having doubts can lead to a deeper faith. The opposite of faith is not doubt; the opposite of faith is certainty.

From the Second Sunday of Easter in the 2024 Little White Book: “Faith is a quest. Faith is also a struggle because faith involves growth, and growth is never easy. …. Faith is never meant to be static and finished. It is intended to grow throughout our lives. To do this we have to have the courage to admit the darkness…and bring it into the light of Christ.”

Alleluia,
Fr. Greg Esty

The Church of St. Genevieve is in need of an individual willing to make weekly walks through our buildings and make note of repairs needed.  Repairs can be done independently, with volunteers, or by vendors.  This individual is responsible for setting up rooms for luncheons, retreats and other events. This individual works with parish custodian to order cleaning supplies.  Hours are flexible - up to 15 hours a week, one evening meeting quarterly.

If you would like to work with great people in a relaxed atmosphere, maybe the Facilities Maintenance position is for you.

Helpful Resources

As parishioners of St. Genevieve, we commit ourselves to refresh our participation of Liturgy through attentive listening to God's Word, in raising our voices in prayer and song, and in reverent reception of the Body and Blood of Christ. We pledge to work for justice for those inside and outside of our boundaries and to be instruments of healing in our families and in our community.
