FESTIVAL - AUGUST 17
Everyone is invited to the 114th Parish Festival this Sunday, August 17 beginning at 11am. Check out all the activities during this FUN-raising event!
FESTIVAL DINNER
Enjoy fried chicken, corn-on-the-cob, original homemade coleslaw, dinner roll, pie and milk, coffee, lemonade and water. Dinner (including take out) is served 11am-3pm. An adult dinner ticket is $15 and a child - 10 & under - is $7.
Each household is asked to bring 2 non-refrigerated pies to the community center the morning of the Festival to serve with the dinners. Hamburgers will be grilled at the Hamburger stand.
FESTIVAL COUNTRY STORE
Shop at the Country Store for Handmade Items (dish towels, baby items, jewelry, woodwork) and Country Goods (jams, jellies, canned fruit, vegetables, salsa), Country Baked goods (breads, cookies, bars, cupcakes, pies) and Country Produce (vegetables, fruit, floral, potted plants). Buy a chance to win one of the beautiful quilts! Proceeds go toward local charitable causes.
FESTIVAL CHILDREN'S GAMES
Experience the Castle Course and favorite games: Cake Walk, Lollipop Stand, Duck Pond, Fishing Pond, Spin the Wheel, Wood Washer Toss and more!
FESTIVAL ADULT GAMES & RAFFLES
Try your luck at Pull-tabs. Buy a chance or two for the cash raffle, Bucket of Cheer or gas card raffles. All raffle tickets - sold and unsold - need to be returned to the raffle booth by the day of the Festival.
BINGO
Festival go-ers of all ages can play Bingo. Be sure to sit in a lucky section!
SILENT AUCTION
Place a bid at one of the many Silent Auction baskets or certificates from 11am - 3pm. You can learn if you've won a basket at 4pm and pick up your winnings from 4-7pm Sunday, or 9:30am-1:30pm or 5:30-7:30pm Monday. Cash and checks only.

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY
We celebrate the Assumption of Mary on Friday, August 15. The holy day masses will be held at 8:00am at the Centerville church (NOT the Parish Community Center) and 7:00pm at the St. John's Site.

PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Nick Beck and John Herdina who entered God's heavenly kingdom this week. Nick's funeral Mass will be August 28 and John's funeral Mass is September 5.
RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE
The Council of Catholic Women (CCW) are sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, August 29. Book your appointment here.
FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION
Register your child(ren) for Faith Formation 2025-2026! Materials will be ordered this summer, so early registration is appreciated. Tenth graders should register this year in order to make his/her Confirmation as a tenth grader.
THINKING OF WAYS TO GET INVOLVED?
Catechists and assistants are needed for the upcoming year. Lesson plans are provided. Classes range in size from 4-14 students and are held most Wednesday evenings October 1 - May 6. Contact ThuyAnh at thoang@stgens.org if you feel a tap on your shoulder prodding you to volunteer.
