VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION

Whether it's singing at Mass, sharing your faith, stuffing envelopes or serving a funeral dinner, donut, chicken dinner, fish or pancake, know that you are truly appreciated! Celebrate our volunteers this weekend at Hospitality after the Sunday Masses.

SUMMER SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY-THE CHOSEN

Three of the sessions have begun, but you are welcome to join in!

Wednesdays 8:45-10:45 am PCC; starts June 14.

Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 pm Fortin Hall; next meets on June 14.

QUILT TYING

People of the parish are invited to come to the PCC Thursday, June 15, at 9:00 am to tie quilts for those in need. No experience necessary.

 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

VBS countdown begins! Join us as we partner with St. Joseph of the Lakes in Lino Lakes June 19-23. Late registration for $75 will be accepted based on availability. Register here. VBS will be held at St. Joe's campus. Adult volunteers are needed. Contact ThuyAnh if you can help.

 

FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION OPEN

Register before August 1 for early registration fee on the FF website page.

 

COME AND SEE

Could you lead a faith-sharing group? There will be training in the fall that will equip persons to lead small groups. Please begin to think if your faith life could be enriched by getting involved in this opportunity.

PANCAKE BRUNCH

The Men's Club is hosting a pancake brunch after the 10:30 Mass this weekend at the PCC (June 4). All are invited and a special invitation goes out to those new to the parish or wanting to register.

Please turn in the discernment form today! Have you considered serving on the Pastoral or Finance Parish Councils? The Pastoral Council helps guide the vision & ministry of the parish. The Finance Council helps guide the use of parish financial resources. Openings are available for 3-year terms beginning July 1.

Thank you for your amazing support of the Catholic Charities Giving Basket drive! The parish donated hundreds of items to help the homeless here in the Twin Cities. Thank you so much!

PRAYERS

Prayers go out to the family and friends of Tom Lauer who recently passed. Tom's funeral will be held Saturday, June 3.

 

MEMORIAL DAY HONORS

The Hugo Legion Post 620 will be at the St. Genevieve Cemetery at 11:25 am on Memorial Day and at the St. John the Baptist Cemetery at noon.

 

CEMETERY ENVELOPE

Our parish is responsible for the care of two cemeteries. This time of year we ask you to make a donation toward the upkeep of these resting places of our loved ones. Use the envelope in your packets, write "Cemetery" in the memo line of the check you put in the collection basket or donate electronically.

 

CEMETERY CLEAN-UP

Please remove dead flowers, faded decorations and wreaths at the cemeteries. Thank you to the Men's Club who recently raised 35 flat markers so that they are no longer buried under the grass.

 

 

FUNERAL PRE-PLANNING

Did you know there is a guide available at st.gens.org/funerals to help plan a funeral at the parish? Fill it out now and give copies to your family so your wishes are known.
